About
Crochet, but make it interesting.
Friday Studio is a small independent crochet studio based in Sydney, Australia, founded by me, Frida!
My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was little. I made a few wonky things, forgot about it for approximately a decade, and then picked it back up during lockdown - mostly because I needed something to do with my hands. Turns out, I got a little carried away.
What started as a lockdown hobby became a genuine obsession, and eventually Friday Studio.
I make colourful, slightly ridiculous, very useful things by hand - mostly bags, occasionally homewares or wearables, and whatever else I become mildly obsessed with making. I’m drawn to good colour, good texture and objects with a bit of personality, and Friday Studio is my excuse to put all three together.
Everything is designed and crocheted by me in small batches, which means there’s a human behind every stitch - and occasionally a dog trying to get involved.
The goal is simple: make things you actually want to own.
No beige crochet baskets. No sad little coasters. No mass-produced “handmade” aesthetic.
Just playful colours, good shapes, questionable amounts of yarn, and pieces made slowly enough to care about the details.
